The Tencent Wuhan Research and Development Center is located by the Tangson Lake in Jiangxia District, Wuhan. It faces the lake on both sides and has a shape resembling a sleeping penguin. The total construction area is 73,000 square meters, with 5 floors above ground and 2 floors underground. It is an international standard office park designed based on the three-dimensional concepts of environment, culture and architecture.
The design project covers 75,000 square meters and consists of five floors. The floor plan was shaped through three turns. The building linearly extends along the lake, providing more visual angles of the lake view. We have maximized each floor-level office area and supported it with multiple vertical transportation cores. This maximizes communication and collaboration efficiency, and the space utilization is highly intensive and flexible.
The first floor is the public service area, featuring exhibition halls, QQ stores, and a coffee shop. The printed glass is used as the base, resembling the white floating posture of the morning mist on the lake surface, and it has a good dialogue with the surrounding environment. The floors above are the office areas. Large terraces and steps are connected to the lake shore along the lake surface, which can be a place for midday relaxation and night parties, or a place to work directly from the office into the forest by the lake.
