In 2014, the successful bid for the lighting project of Guangzhou’s tallest building – Guangzhou East Tower (Chow Tai Fook Financial Center) (China Lighting Award and Zhu Rong Award project).
The project is located in the central area of Zhujiang New Town CBD in Tianhe District, Guangzhou. It is planned for commercial office use, with a land area of 26,494.184 square meters and a planned construction area of 350,000 square meters above ground and 18,000 square meters underground. The building height is 539.2 meters, making it the tallest building in Guangzhou and currently the second tallest in South China. It was topped out in October 2014 and officially opened in July 2016. The night lighting of Guangzhou East Tower uses low-energy LED fixtures. The main tower is illuminated with bright, three-dimensional, and transparent white lights, creating a dynamic effect of twinkling stars in the night sky. The lighting of the podium complements the architectural appearance and landscape features, also using mainly white light. Guangzhou East Tower and Guangzhou West Tower have formed the most harmonious and beautiful new central axis in Guangzhou.
